Fire Risk Assessment

From 2006 the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 superseded most of the previous fire safety legislation. The emphasis of the Fire Safety Order is now on prevention through fire risk assessment. The Fire Safety Order applies to almost all premises, buildings, structures and even open spaces.  The legislation does not normally apply to people’s private homes or inside individual residential flats. It does however apply to the common parts of residential flats and any dwelling that is classified as a House in Multiple Occupation (HMO).

The Fire Safety Order makes it mandatory to undertake a Fire Risk Assessment on most premises and also to create adequate fire management arrangements
There is also a statutory requirement to ensure that a Fire Risk Assessment is suitable and sufficient and undertaken by a competent person who has the knowledge and capability to assess fire risks for the particular premises being assessed.

Our Fire Risk Assessments are undertaken by our Chartered Health and Safety practitioners, who will produce an assessment on significant findings and necessary actions that should be taken to comply with fire safety legislation. The cost of a Fire Risk Assessment is generally based on the age, size, use and complexity of the premises.
